Felbrigg House - Inside - (Part 2) 2/7

Another bedroom at Felbrigg Hall, somewhat different to the one I posted yesterday. This has quite bold wallpaper but still has plenty of room and a desk instead of a sofa at the foot of the bed.

i see your point, Brian. the wallpaper looks a bit incongruous to my eyes. that is a strange location for the desk.
Brian Walbey: Not my favourite type of wallpaper, and very much a strange place for the desk.

It is not easy to tell, but the bed looks like it is intended for short people, Brian.
Brian Walbey: All of these old beds like this were short, we must grow taller these days.
Don't they know stripes and patterns don't mix?
Brian Walbey: Awful wallpaper isn't it.

Imagine waking up with a hangover and having to look at that wallpaper..
Brian Walbey: Enough to send ones head spinning once more.
That is an odd place for a desk Brian
Brian Walbey: I also thought that Bill, stick ones feet over the end and the inkwells would land up on the carpet!

The position of the studio desk at the foot of the bed is unusual - I don't have any desk or book shelves in my bedroom.
Brian Walbey: We have a small bookshelf in one corner but certainly not a desk, not enough room!

If that were my desk, I would want it in the window
Brian Walbey: That would be the obvious thing to do but the window is behind where I was standing and is the route through the room for visitors.
another short bed for the short people Brian... good framing....petersmile
Brian Walbey: I wonder if everybody was short back in those days.
I'd be happy with a bedroom that size!
Brian Walbey: So would I but the bed would have to be quite a bit bigger!
