A Riverside Walk At Kegworth 5/7

Life in the village of Kegworth is inextricably linked to the River Soar, which meanders through the low-lying flood plains and round the eastern and southern edge of the village. Many villagers, as well as people from much further afield, enjoy walking, bird watching, fishing, and picnicking along the banks; and boating has always been popular bringing in visitors from a wide area.

I'll be back in a minit with my kayak...
Brian Walbey: Quite good river for that sort of thing Ray
A kayak OR a canoe...would be so idyllic here, Brian.

A lot of things can be done, for sure. I would do skinny dipping on a hot summer's night. Old bodies are not beautiful, so it must be dark smile
Brian Walbey: It is quite a busy river through the Spring to Autumn period. I'm not sure my ageing body is up to skinny dipping these days smile
I suspect you will have more walks along this delightful stretch Brian
Brian Walbey: We will have to go there during the summer instead of the winter, trouble is by then it will no doubt be busy with boats and people!

The water slowly flows down.
Brian Walbey: This stretch is between the lock I posted on Wednesday and another one I will show on Sunday so I guess with them both closed the river will run quite slowly.

Must look especially lovely in the spring.
