What a lovely scape...
Brian Walbey: The hills at the back of us only about 10 minutes drive, in the far distance are the hills at the edge of our Peak District.
There are many Beacon hills..... A loooong view!
Brian Walbey: There are indeed Frank, this is about 10 minutes from us and is the second highest hill in leicestershire at 814 feet.
Joli paysage.
Brian Walbey: This is about 10 minutes drive from our home and there are some fine views in all directions.
I like those rocks to the left!
Brian Walbey: Those rocks (Granite) are some of the oldest in the entire U.K. and the area is known for its outcrops of them.

Where is this one, please, Brian?
Brian Walbey: This Beacon Hill is about 10 minutes from us in the Charnwood Forest area, and at 814 feet it is the secind highest hill in Leicestershire. Many years ago when Bill, Chad and Chris visited Richard in Leicester he took them to this place among others.
Like Astrid said, this is what we love about England. It is definitely NOT the Netherlands!

Ah yes, that spot with the superb views.
Brian Walbey: When you visited Richard many years ago with Bill and Chris he took you to Beacon Hill, I recall there is a picture in existence of you sitting on the trig point marker!

More like a Lookout Hill. One can see the enemy coming from afar. A leopard would have a good view of breakfast in the foreground, lunch in the middle ground and dinner to the back somewhere.

Great shot.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Louis. One can see for miles from up there, it is only 10 minutes form us. We don't get Leopards up there but one might come across the odd Adder in the bracken or long grass so it is worth keeping an eye open as to where one is walking.
You can see for miles from this spot, Brian.
Brian Walbey: This is about 10 minutes from us and is 814 feet above sea level. The hills in the far distance are the edge of our Park District in Derbyshire.
This one can be called Beacon Hole.
Brian Walbey: This Beacon Hill is about 10 minutes from us in the Charnwood Forest area, and at 814 feet it is the secind highest hill in Leicestershire. It is very popular with visitors, we went during the week when people were at work or school.

Looks to be an interesting landscape. I like the knobbly bits of rock. Gentle rolling hills, too.
Brian Walbey: In the far distance is the edge of the Peak District, the rocks are some of the oldest Granite outsrops in the U.K.
A very fine view Brian

There are a lot of Beacon Hills around the country!
Brian Walbey: There are indeed Tom, this is about 10 minutes from us and is the second highest hill in leicestershire at 814 feet.
