Coming Up In 2017

BLAKENEY, NORFOLK

It was nice to have Alan Rolfe call in yesterday as he travelled back home after his holiday in Northumberland. (We are only a few minutes from M1 Jct.23 should any of you U.K.SC'ers.ever come this way and feel like taking a break from your journey.) We didn't have a large stock of cake for the occasion so had to top up with scones and jam :) Nice to see you again Alan.

A lovely scene!
How lucky to have a pop in by the esteemed Mr. Rolfe! I'm sure the scones made him quite happy! If anyone popped 'around our home I could offer... um... some almond butter and pumpkin seeds... smile
Brian Walbey: Blakeney is one of the most popular spots to visit on our North Norfolk coast and very photogenic as you will see. Almond butter and Pumpkin Seeds, might have to bring my own bag of doughnuts, I bet American ones are really nice smile
Jolie vue avec tous ces bateaux.

Love these muddy, tidal estuaries, Brian.

Alan is probably going to do an extended cake shop crawl today.
Brian Walbey: Blakeney is one of the most popular spots to visit on our North Norfolk coast and very photogenic. Alan did say he is out on his bike today, tomorrow and Sunday so no doubt cakes will feature somewhere or other.
I'm very certain Alan was as happy with scones and jam as with cake, Brian, knowing him and his tastes. In the meantime, how nice to get the lay of the land. Astrid and I often talk about the possibility of visiting your neck of the woods one day.
Brian Walbey: Blakeney is one of the most popular spots to visit on our North Norfolk coast and very photogenic. Our neck of the woods is lovely, yet in some ways different to the area round Bath. We had to move here with my job in 1989 and weren't too pleased, but now we wouldn't be anywhere else, there are so many places to go.

Plenty of boats for a Boat Friday shop, too! I really must get over to Norfolk at some point. I enjoyed a few holidays in Suffolk and even my mountain-loving friend has enjoyed a holiday in Norfolk.

Thanks again for your hospitality yesterday. ray is right; picked up a message late yesterday about a bike ride today with a stop for coffee and cake at some point smile
Brian Walbey: North Norfolk is a lovely part of the country, despite what people say about Norfolk being flat, it isn't! There is plenty of walking and places to visit.

Blakeney is promising. If ever I am in the UK, I will pop in with cake, to make up for the fact that I am not an UK SC'er smile
Brian Walbey: I look forward to your visit Louis.

Not everybody has the privilege of visiting lovely Blakeney and then later having the Sage of Scumsville visit them. There's no stopping the silly old sod is there..
Brian Walbey: Blakeney is one of the most popular spots to visit on our North Norfolk coast and very photogenic. Alan is good company, as you know, it is a long drive in one day from Durham to Southampton, more then we would like to do.

Perfect for boat Friday if that is still a 'thing'. It's a lovely spot isn't it.
Brian Walbey: Boat Friday comes and goes it seems Mike. When I post my Blakeney series everyday that week will be a boat day in some way or other.

I am sure Alan appreciated the scones, Brian
Brian Walbey: I'm sure he did Lisl. We thought it was today (Friday) that he was coming so Maureen never had time to bake one of her special Jam and Cream sponges, dammit!
Aren't these all lined up perfectly!
Brian Walbey: The waters at Blakeney cover a very large area and all the boats seem to be more very tidily, mind you it needs to be, this is a haven for pleasure craft in the summer.
and lovely harbour at low tide... and a good variety of boats....petersmile

A lovely blue skied view to cheer up a dreary day here in Lancaster Brian.
Brian Walbey: It was equally dull here just a few miles from Loughborough as well Anne, and it much the same today (Saturday)
Ange is on permanent standby in case he pays another visit here.

I don't know Blakeney but i quite like Norfolk
Brian Walbey: Blakeney is one of the most popular spots to visit on our North Norfolk coast and very photogenic, there is a lot of places to walk, either short or long distances.

North Norfolk is great.
Brian Walbey: Indeed it is Richard, when we lived at St.Ives and our children were growing up most of our holidays were in North Norfolk, although we did venture to your area of the Suffolk coast a couple of times, that of course is also very nice.
Not a bit of coast I've every been to.
Brian Walbey: Well worth a visit for a two or three day stay Tom, different sorts of coastline as one travels along and plenty of places to visit including some fine NT properties.
