SOUTHWELL MINSTER

Hidden away in the eastern part of Nottinghamshire is the small town of Southwell, but the town is famous for two buildings, the National Trust’s restored Victorian Workhouse, and this building, the Minster. We have only visited the town and Minster once during our time living in the East Midlands and vow every year to do so again. It is a magnificent building and this is just one small part of the outside of the building. One day I intend revisiting and trying to do the place more justice with my camera than I did that particular day.

Both sound intriguing Brian, I aught to put this on my list of places to visit
Brian Walbey: Indeed you should Chris, I recall Bill visited the Workhouse in recent times, and the minster I think, it is a very fine building both outside and inside.

Its a very fine-looking building, Brian...remind me a little of the appearance of St Pauls in Melbourne, Australia.
Brian Walbey: It is a lovely building inside and outside Ray. I Googled St.Pauls, another fine looking place although Southwell doesn't have the pointed steeples on it.

This scanned very well.
Brian Walbey: I must admit I had to do quite a bit of post scanning work on this one.
It is a magnificent building indeed Brian! Superb capture.
Both are well worth another visit Brian. Chris is right, Ange and I went there a couple of years ago
Brian Walbey: I seem to remember you said you'd been there when you went to the Workhouse.

It's a fine looking building, Brian. A good scan, too.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Alan, it is a lovely building, good to photograph both inside and outside, but somewhat of any routes you might take to and from one of your holidays.

Hey I think we are on the same page here, at least in this one photo theme…lovely capture of this old building, well done
Brian Walbey: Indeed Robbyne, I do tend to photograph a lot of churches and religious buildings as I go round and about. This is a very fine building.
A fine picture Brian!
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Ronke.
I visited a couple of years ago - it was worth a fiver to take the pics smile
Brian Walbey: Yes we really must find time to go again, we still haven't visited the Workhouse as yet.
