HEIDELBERG BRIDGE AND CASTLE
In the early 70's I used to work with a chap married to a German girl who's family lived in Stuttgart and one Easter we went over with them and spent a few days there. On the Good Friday we caught the train out to Heidelberg only to find the place was almost closed because of the Bank Holiday, I wonder if it is still the same 40 years later.
This picture of the Old Bridge and Heidelberg Castle ruins behind it is probably the most usual composition for a photograph there but as you can see at that time we had some really nice sunshine, although earlier we had been to the top of the mountain behind in the funicular in a sudden, and heavy, snowstorm.
For all that we really enjoyed our day there and it is one place I would like to return to given the opportunity.
