photoblog image Bradgate Park - 7/10

Bradgate Park - 7/10

I have featured Bradgate Park, near Leicester, before but not the southern end at the village of Newtown Linford.  We took a walk there with the grandchildren in early April and this series will give you an idea how lovely it is, and different from the northern end.

The park has its own resident herd of deer and an abundance, at times, of wildfowl, including these ducks enjoying a bath on top of one of the weirs on the River Lin.

Beautiful scene, Brian, and I cannot see any evidence of litter.
Brian Walbey: Strangely for the British people do generally seem to keep Bradgate fairly litte free considering the 1,000's of family picnics held there during the year.
Those ducks know a thing or two or are just plain stupid

richard
Brian Walbey: The former I think Richard.
A lovely scene Brian
Brian Walbey: Many thanks Bill.

It looks very peaceful Brian
Brian Walbey: It is Chris, apart from the school summer holidays.
The duck version of a shower. Great capture, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Lol. Thanks Sheila.
Of course this is a likey for me. I have a card that I am sure was painted here.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Mary. Feel free to use the photo if you should wish to.
What a charming place Brian! Very nicely captured.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard.
A gorgeous scene Brian..I'm turning green!!!
Brian Walbey: Shame you live so far away Ron, Linda and Steve know the place a little of course.
Lovely scene Brian. That looks like the ducks meeting place. They like to live dangerously perhaps.
Brian Walbey: I couldn't really work out how the ducks didn't get swept over the weir Janet.

Great looking spot
Brian Walbey: Yes indeed vintage, thanks.
Its making me want to visit again, lovely shot Briansmile
Brian Walbey: Make a weekend of it and look up Steve's old friends at the same time Linda.
great shot, just enough movement to look like movement
smile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Rob, I don't actually like shots where the water looks like cotton wool or shaving foam very much, this is just about o.k.for my taste.
Good shot of the waterfall and view beyond.
Brian Walbey: Thanks John.

Superb, Brian. The ducks and the swan make this for me. let's hope the ducks don't lose their footing and find themselves over the weir!
Brian Walbey: I couldn't work out how the ducks stood their ground and sisn't go over the weir Alan.
I would be perfectly happy ducking around there. feet in the weir, giggling at the arrogant swans, and just enjoying life.

Really nice shot Brian!!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Marion, the children do paddle in the stream although not near the weir of course.
wonderful shot again Brian, this park looks so nice
Brian Walbey: Many thanks Derek, it is a lovely park.
You've captured the water beautifully - looks like icicles
Brian Walbey: Thanks Pamela, at least it doesn't look like cotton wool, an effect I am not too keen on.
