Wishful Thinking

This was taken at Thoresby Hall while we were staying at the Warners Hotel there. Luckily for me, not so for Maureen, there was a motor sprint around the roads in part of the parkland.

As I was looking at the cars and went to photograph this its owner said jump in and took my photo like this.  I must admit I wouldn't have minded a modest trip round the course.  I was surprised at how small these smaller single seat formula cars are inside.

Once again I will wish you all a good weekend, but I will be posting over the weekend.

You look to be in your element here Brian!
Brian Walbey: It might have been my element at one time Chris, now I'm a we bit too old I think.

Wow!
That's some lawn mower you've got, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Lol if I drove this I would probably spend more time on the grass than the track Ray.

Looks like a bit of a tight fit Brian.
Brian Walbey: It would be even tighter now Graham, my waist has expanded a bit since I retired smile
LOL.. good shot of you. Don;t drive off, though.. you still have your tyre warmers on. Little space, eh? You've be telling us that there's no room for a takeaway coffee cup!
Brian Walbey: No room for the coffee Alan and proably my tummy these days!
Must have been frustrating not being able to put your foot down. Great colour.
Brian Walbey: It would have been nice to have a little go Janet.

You're almost exactly one year older than I am, Brian! smile Next year it will be my turn for that magic number. (However, I'm already on Social Security, which we are able to start here at 62!)
Brian Walbey: At the moment women get their pension at 60 Ginnie, as Maureen did nearly two years ago, but that is being raised to 65 in rising steps. It is still 65 for men but our lousy government has ideas about making it 67 or even higher for everyone. I have been getting my work pension since I was 57 though as I was made reudundant in 2002 and we have been living on that. Oh the joys of getting old!

What a great opportunity and the owner captured the event for you.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Tracy, I wouldn't have minded a quick burst up the road though smile
When you sat in that...I can imagine your thoughts Brian..."If only". A great shot of you. Nice one.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ron, a quick run up the road would have been good.

Brian Walbey: Sadly I don't think I would get in the car now Mia, I've had a "waistline explosion" since then !
