I found this video of 34081 on the Nene Valley Railway near Peterborough which we visited, on a very wet day, on our way home from Norfolk in June last year.

Those Bulleid spam cans, as they were called, were wonderful locomotives. There was one running around on the main line until recently. I used to go spotting at Salisbury to see them..

Brian Walbey: Sounds like a good way of spending your holiday Richard, a type of loco I only saw if my parents took me on holiday on the Southern region.
looks unusual from the front, Brian, because of the sideplates mostly.
Brian Walbey: It was a most unusual form of streamlining, some years later they were built without that and some of them with it had it removed then they looked like this http://www.unseensteam.co.uk/sites/default/files/styles/large/public/spotlight%20-%2022216%20-%20Box%20A%20-%20image%201.jpg?itok=6jRS8kIf

I can remember seeing the Oiens Express on the old Somerset and Dorset line usually crossing the A31 near Corfe Mullen.

I saw many of the BB and WC class locos in my transporting days but they never looked like this!
Brian Walbey: A type of loco I only saw if my parents took me on holiday on the Southern region. It is very well turned out, even in the pouring rain.
