It does look very smart, Brian.
Brian Walbey: In excellent condition Frank, I quite enjoyed being hauled by it.
Jolis tons jaune et bleu.
Brian Walbey: Very well looked after.
It just looks like a big toy!
Brian Walbey: A big toy for big boys, just like Frank, me, Bill, Alan, shall I continue smile

These were always known as growlers due to their distinctive engine noise. There are still some operating on the national system
Brian Walbey: I think the ones on the national network are mainly used for freight trains now apart from cases of emergency.

It has a somewhat sad face Brian.

It does look to be in fine nick, I have to say. I wonder why there wa a bonnet rathe than having the cab closer to the buffers?
Brian Walbey: I remember these from when I was quite young, they were all built between 1960-1965 and I often wondered about that big front, I don't think there is anything in particular in that front end.
But it will never be as appealing as steam!
Brian Walbey: I won't argue with that statement Tom, although it is in fine condition.
