Looking relaxed, and enjoying the ride...
Brian Walbey: I reckon #23 is about to nip up the inside going into the hairpin bend just out of picture.
I wonder if the dark face shields are polarized?
Brian Walbey: To be honest I've never thought about that, at the speed the big bikes go on some circuits, up to 200mph., they would need somehting to counteract plain darkened perspex to see a long way ahead.
On devine aisément la vitesse.
Brian Walbey: They are going quite fast at this point and then brake hard for a hairpin bend just out of the picture.
You are in your element here Brian
Brian Walbey: Very much so Bill, I try to go once a year to a classic bike meeting. I do watch the international championships on TV but in the Superbike meetings just about every class of racing consists of road bikes highly tuned up rather than the old days when a variety of bikes were developed for each class and it all looks the same.

Their bikes are the same colour
Brian Walbey: For some reason in this capacity class most of the bikes are painted red, although onda riders like '23 do often paint them silver grey which used to be the offcial Honda racing colours.
So, not that long ago, Brian. You're still a little boy at heart, aren't you! smile
Brian Walbey: I have been a motorcycle racing enthusiast since 1961 although of course I don't go very much now, but for many years when I was younger I was involved with the sport in that from 1968 until 1982 I commentated on the racing exactly 100 times at various circuits throughout the U.K., I have some great memories from those times.

I can’t help but support the underdog Brian.
Brian Walbey: I think they were fairly well down the field Chad so strictly speaking they were both underdogs smile

It is hard to credit how fast they go!
Brian Walbey: These bikes are probably good for about 135 mph. but the latest modern racing bikes used in the world championship are good for 210+ on a fast circuit!! Me, I'd rather watch smile

Great 'catch' of the motion in this picture.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Louis.

This looks fun to see these golden oldies, Brian. I know you in Assen many many years ago. This is in your blood smile
Brian Walbey: I prefer the classic bikes, they were what was racing in my day. It was 1966 when I went to Assen, probably the best circuit for motorcycles there is, the riders certainly like it. You might find my reply to Ginnie about me and motorcyce racing interesting.
love the centrifugal force that they are into Brian... great action shot....petersmile
Brian Walbey: Even when riding a motorbike one wonders what is keeping it up, apart from when one slides off of course, fortuntely I only done that once and got away unhurt.
These bikes seem to be environmentally friendly, Brian, as I don't see any black smoke being emitted; or any smoke for that matter. Nice shadows captured as well.
Brian Walbey: These are both four-stroke machines which I not known for making much in the way of smoke, and they now have to have proper exhaust systems which cut out air pollution because of Global Warming etc.
