Borth-y-Gest - Part 3 - 4/5

ON A DAMP, DULL DAY IN MID-JUNE!!!

There is a nice background of trees to the beach in this little bay and I particularly liked these rocks, I only wish I could have photographed them in sunshine.

They look look animal like jutting up out of the sand like that Brian.

The rocks look like decayed trees, Brian.
Brian Walbey: They do, very much so.

The tide almost reaches the rocks
Brian Walbey: When the tide is in it is more or less up to the treeline.
You could build one heck of a rockery in the garden with these Brian!
Brian Walbey: Trouble is I couldn't get them in the car boot smile

The angle of the rock is telling.
Brian Walbey: Nature done somehting or other to have the rocks ending up like that.
The overcast sky actually allows you to see the subject better without the interference of shadows. I prefer this and would think of the sunny day one as a bonus.
Brian Walbey: I think the same as you about the sun for this shot, but for the scenic ones it owul have been helpful to burn off the mist.
I agree with Mary. You didn't need a sunny day.

great layers of light and colour Brian... love that rock formation....petersmile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Peter
They come out pretty well on a dull day, Brian!
Brian Walbey: yes I was quite pleased with this one. I should have gone in and taken some texture style close-ups.

There's not any indication that this was not taken in sunshine. I think if it had been sunny then you may have ended up with too many highlights and shadows.
Brian Walbey: You might be right Alan.
