photoblog image Beacon Hill, Leicestershire 8/10

Beacon Hill, Leicestershire 8/10

The first of two postings of my very favourite tree at Beacon Hill that I photograph almost every time we go there. I thought it looked good with that beautiful Leicestershire countryside behind and somehow the gate and bench seemed to fit the picture as well.

I love all the shades of green, Brian.
Brian Walbey: It looks good in early October, when this was taken, in early May the whole district looks almost magical with all the various shades of green.
It certainly is a nice view, Brian.
Brian Walbey: It may not be the Lake or Peak District but we do have some fine scenery round our way.
That's just lovely!

It is a lovely viewpoint
Brian Walbey: There are many of those at the top of the hill.
All of it, yes, Brian!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ginnie.

That one tree has a great view... I like this a lot, Brian.
Brian Walbey: As nice as it looks it can be very cold and windy in the winter. I went there with the camera club one evening in early spring and it was so windy one could almost lay into the wind without falling over!
It has all the ingredients you could wish for Brian
Brian Walbey: Nice view isn't it.

It might be a birch, a lovely English landscape!
Brian Walbey: We feel so lucky having such nice scenery only a short drive from home.
I can imagine it in May, our June, when the trees would be in blossom. It is certainly a beautiful area.

Yes, I can see the appeal here. I'm sure you and Maureen have sat on that bench.
Brian Walbey: Yes we probably have sat on that bench, it is such a good view to look at.
A lovely bit of English countryside.
Brian Walbey: It doesn't come much better Tom.
i think there is considerable merit in that tree being a favourite of yours, Brian. a first rate shot.
Brian Walbey: There's just something about it that I like.
