Beacon Hill, Leicestershire 5/10

Looking in the opposite direction to yesterdays posting this is more or less South East, the lower ground being the Soar Valley and the riverside villages of Barrow and Mountsorrel. A few more shots starting on Monday.

Very pretty!
Brian Walbey: It's completely different to where you and Frank live but I suspect you would enjoy a visit to Beacon Hill, just try and avoid stepping on one of the poisonous 'S' things !! (Seriously the area has Adders but I don't actually know of anybody who has seen one, they tend to hide themselves away, at least I hope they do when we visit smile )

You lovely it is.
Brian Walbey: England has such beautiful and variable scenery, we're so pleased we live near this part of it.
The rolling hills of England! Definitely NOT in the Netherlands, Brian. smile
Brian Walbey: Definitely not Ginnie, but we are so pleased to live where we do, within 10 minutes of leaving home we are out of town and in the midst of this lovely scenery.

A wonderful vantage point
Brian Walbey: The Trig Point Chad sat on was just behind me!
A fine panorama Brian
Brian Walbey: Looking out across the Soar Valley, named after the river that flows down from Leicester, the hills in the background are more of the 'rolling' type thatn beacon Hill, but really nice to drive through.

Very nice! I visited Leicester chen I was a kid!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Anne. You wouldn't recognise Leicester now, but is still has all this lovely scenery round and about a few miles from the centre.

This is a lovely hillscape with a wide view! I miss only the sheep.
Brian Walbey: We are lucky to live so close to scenery like this. They don't have sheep but from time to time Longhorn and Highland cattle are left to graze on fenced off areas.

This is gorgeous, Brian. You live in a very nice area.
Brian Walbey: We are lucky to live so close to scenery like this. Mind you it looks nice where you live from your photos and you have the added advantage of the sea, we are at least 3 hours, on a good run, from the coast.
A lovely landscape.
