From My Competition Folder - Part 9 5/5 (The End)

 ILAM PARISH CHURCH

Not Entered in Competition As Yet

Thanks to you all for sticking with this extensive series of just some of my competition images. It took a while to compile because I had to go through my Archive in order to avoid posting images you've already seen, (I think I did manage to include one or two accidentally), and then to set up the links to my camera clubs exhibition gallery. You did also of course get to see a selection of images from some of my fellow club members if you took advantage of the links and I hope you enjoyed those as well. Perhaps in the future I may have a further selection to post, but for now something completely different next week.

This is a wonderful view . Love the light on the church. And what a view in the back.
Brian Walbey: This is about an hour from us and is very popular to visit. I posted a series from Ilam earlier this year I think it was, that included some shots from inside the church.
What a fabulous setting for this parish church, Brian. It's another one I would love to visit.

This series has put me in awe, mainly because of its sheer volume. I have never entered a single photo competition in my life and wouldn't even know how/where to start.
Brian Walbey: This is about an hour from us and is very popular to visit in our Peak District. Over the 47+ years I have done photography as one of my main hobbies I must have taken thousands of images as either B.& W., slides and digital and many of them have been used in competitions, perhaps one day I will dig out some of my older stuff I entered as slides.

This is a charming image taken on a nice day Brian
Brian Walbey: It was a mid September day just like today now the rain has moved on, we were even able to sit outside for our lunch at the excellent tearoom.

With the shadow and light so well managed in this picture, I believe it can do well in a competition.
Brian Walbey: I am thinking of entering it in our forthcoming Architecture competition in November.
This is very pretty and I hope it wins in the future.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Mary,I am thinking of entering it in our forthcoming Architecture competition in November.

It has been a fascinating series Brian, very enjoyable viewing.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Anne, I'm so glad you enjoyed it, perhaps I will do a similar series some time in the future with some of my older competition work.

What a wonderful church ensemble in such a lovely landscape - this is my merry old England I love so much.
Brian Walbey: This is a beautiful place to visit, only just over an hour away from us.
Must get out into Derbyshire more!
Brian Walbey: It is a beautiful county Tom.
A lovely view, Brian. An unusual flat top to the fell, top right.
Brian Walbey: This is a lovely place to visit, just down the road from Dovedale. The flat topped hill is Thorpe Cloud, about 1,000 feet high.
