photoblog image Baslow 5/5

Baslow 5/5

The previous two pictures featured the bridge over the River Derwent at Baslow from above, but this is the same bridge from the river bank. We sat there for quite a while and during that time a group of ducks decided to use that small rock in the foreground as a meeting place.

We are off to Ambleside in the Lake District for a few days tomorrow, back next weekend, in the meantime enjoy the pictures I have left for you during that time.

Solid and elegant...
Brian Walbey: A very English style bridge from days gone by.
What a delightful resting place, Brian..for you and the ducks!
Brian Walbey: We enjoyed a sit by the river before going in the church next door, I'm posting that over the weekend.

This looks like a wonderful place to be, quiet and serene. Great picture and enjoy the next few days out.
Brian Walbey: It is a lovely village Astrid, Alan stayed there for a few days earlier this year.

What a lovely bridge this is
Brian Walbey: Very English looking isn't it.
Have a great weekend in Ambleside.
Brian Walbey: A whole week Tom, we're fingers crossed on the weather. On Wednesday we are meeting Anne, she only lives a few miles up the road at Lancaster.

a fine, solid bridge! Ambleside is wonderful, I have been there after a ship trip on the Windermere. You really enjoy your life!

Serene observation point. I have studied Baslow properties for sale on Wednesday. What a place.
Brian Walbey: It is a village where I can imagine properties are quite expensive.

Thank you for thinking of us while you are away, Brian
Brian Walbey: I like to leave a few pictures so, as you no doubt realise I have a very large collection, and hopefully, if the weather is kind, a few more enxtw week. On Wednesday we are meeting Anne, she only lives a few miles up the road at Lancaster.
The ducks seem to be moulting so will stay there for a while.
Brian Walbey: They were on that rock for ages.

I bet the dicks had good old catch up about their days so far. Is this taken from the short path down the side of the church?

Have a lovely time in the Lake District; I'm envious!
Brian Walbey: Yes it is the little path by the churchyard. We had a good time in the Lake District but sadly had very little sunny weather, dull most of the time and rain all day Tuesday!
