photoblog image Blakeney 2/7

Blakeney 2/7

To follow on from yesterday this was taken from almost the same point in the Norfolk village of Blakeney but looking in the opposite direction and is the view normally seen in holiday guides and brochures, I’m not sure why as a lot of the picture is taken up with the car park and the extremely expensive Blakeney Hotel at which it would be nice to have some spare money to stay.

Another really lovely composition, Brian!!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Elizabeth. Mary made the same comment yesterday, I really try and work on my composition, and I've noticed Frank is an expert at composition and you are learning that off him very well.

The hotel looks charming but you need the weather, which, of course, you did have..
Brian Walbey: I'm sure it is a great hotel but it is far too exoensive for me. I have a friend who stayed there with his wife for a couple of nights as a special treat and he said it was excellent.

Jolie photo, cela donne envie de connaître l'endroit.
Brian Walbey: This is the photo that is usually shown in guide books etc.
You can sense how close to sea level this area is Brian.
Brian Walbey: About two foot above sea level I would think Chad.

A good shot, but I prefer yesterday's, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ray, so do I.

I agree that yesterday's picture would look better in the guides, but the hotel must have impact in touristic pictures. The hotel needs a terrace on the water for tea ...
Brian Walbey: You've got it the right way round I think Louis, but I prefer to remember the place as in my Monday picture.
Yes, this is what I saw from google so your shot yesterday was much nicer.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Mary, almost every book or card I've ever seen of Blakeney is this view.
People like to know there is a decent carpark in walking distance Brian grin
Brian Walbey: Quite a big parking area actually, probaly not big enough for a holiday period weekend though.

I see what you mean, Brian
Brian Walbey: Yes the view the other way is much nicer.

I can only assume that the tourist brochures must be sponsored by the hotel. people think "ooo that's looks nice; lets stay there." Yesterday's image is far more likely to entice me to stay than this one.
Brian Walbey: Yes the view the other way is much nicer.
