Trentham Gardens 1/7

Trentham Gardens, near Stoke-on-Trent, are formal Italianate gardens, part of an English landscape park. The gardens are set within a large area of woodland. Together these currently cover some 300 acres. The gardens were designed as a serpentine park by Capability Brown from 1758 onwards, overlying an earlier formal design attributed to Charles Bridgeman. Trentham Gardens are now principally known for the surviving formal gardens laid out in the 1840’s by Sir Charles Barry, which have recently been restored

Les jardiniers ont fait du bon travail, le résultat est très beau.
Brian Walbey: I like the neatness of the flower beds, all very formal.
Very well planned out. Nice angle for the photo!
Brian Walbey: Lovely isn't it, and quite formal.
Beautiful gardens, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Well worth a visit although the day we went it was a bit dull. We ment Martin and Elaine Robinson who only live a few miles away and go there regularly.

It looks delightful
Brian Walbey: It is, and with a lake covers a very large area, indeed it might be a possible place for the 2018 gathering, it's just outside Stoke on Trent.

What intricate grass and grass verges to cut, Brian
Brian Walbey: Indeed Lisl, I don't think I could ever want to have to look after box hedging.
I see that someone has been sent out to ask what you are doing Brian.
Brian Walbey: I was lucky actually, there was a lot of peopel about and I perhaps should have waited until this gu passed behind a tree.
Looks lovely so far, Brian.
Brian Walbey: It is, and with a lake, which you'll see another day, covers a very large area.

Brian Walbey: They are very much worth a visit Bill.

The plants in the circle - bit to the background - looks like fountains spouting water. Interesting buildings in the background.
Brian Walbey: Indeed they do but they are grasses of some sort. The building on the right at the back is the local church.

It looks a lovely place to have a wander. Are these private gardens or run by the council?
Brian Walbey: They are privately owned gardens with a long history.

Brian Walbey: Indeed they are veryw ell cared for Peter.
A lovely setting!
Brian Walbey: Gardens that are well worth a visit.
Such a shame we didn't have a brighter day, still it was memorable
Brian Walbey: It was a shame it wasn't that sunny Martin but we did enjoy our day with you and Elaine as well as the gardens.
