Crook Hall Gardens 1/7

The 13th.century Grade I listed Medieval hall in Durham City provides a backdrop to the gardens that are just a short walk from Durham city’s bustling market place. The Medieval Hall is the oldest part of Crook Hall. It has a very rich history, and has been significant to a number of families who have lived here over the years. In 1217 hall was passed on to Peter Del Croke and it was this ownership that Crook Hall got it’s name.

That's the kind of garden I'd want if I lived in England full time!
Brian Walbey: It's certainly very English, but the whole garden, and this is only a small part, would really take some looking after.

What a wonderful country garden in the midst of a city, Brian
Brian Walbey: Indeed Lisl, not what we expected at all.
A lovely garden, Brian.
Brian Walbey: This is just one small area Frank.

This is wonderful and it might take some time to be to the door, so much to see. What a delight to have this in the front garden.
Brian Walbey: There is an awful lot to see, this is just one small area. More during the week.

It looks lovely with all those summer flowers. In the middle of Durham, who would have guessed?
Brian Walbey: It was a lovely day to visit this fine garden, and only just off the centre of the city.
Again, Brian, more English you cannot get!
Brian Walbey: Very much so Ginnie, this is just one small area.

Oh I missed this on my "see everything in Durham in a few hours" tour just after the New Year. It would have been nowhere near as colourful, though. I get your Head Gardener loved the flowers.
Brian Walbey: It is only just off the city centre although we wouldn't have know about it if it hadn't been on the itinery of our coach holiday. Yes my Head Gardener loved it, so did I, I hope she didn't get too many ideas!
Lovely cottage garden Brian
Brian Walbey: It is a beautiful garden altogether, this is just one small area.
Visited there three or four years ago and had pics pn SC.
Brian Walbey: Then you know just how nice a garden it is then Tom.
