Stoneywell Cottage Part 1 2/5

We made a return visit to the recently opened National Trust property of Stoneywell Cottage, just a few miles from us at Ulverscroft near Leicester.  The idea was to walk the grounds and woodland with the autumn colours in display, Most of you will of course recognise the lady in the photo looking out over the view (see tomorrows posting), and many of you have met her as well.

A very nice photo, Brian, Maureen gives a nice scale to things.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Frank, after 45 years she still comes in useful for my photos smile

Helloo Maureen!

This is a very nice image Brian, the inclusion of a figure always helps with scale
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chris. Maureen was standing there enjoying the view (see tomorrow) and I felt it was just the right place for the picture.

Looks like a fine place to have a stroll with the lovely autumn colours. Maureen helps give this scale.

Maureen might have thought that you were next to her, rather than holding back for the photograph Brian.

Looks like a well-worn path to the bench. Did you and Maureen have a seat together after the shot?
Brian Walbey: The path stops just past the tree unless one wants to tumble down a steep bank. We didn't enjoy the seat this time but enjoyed the view (see tomorrow) as Maureen was busy taking her own photos as we walked round.

I think I can guess, Brian - as Chris says, a figure helps with the scale
Brian Walbey: Thanks Lisl.
Supermodel Maureen....wondering if you are ever going to catch up!!
Brian Walbey: She was actually wandering about taking photos herself that morning.
Maureen looks very serene looking out at the Autumn colours from the top of the hill...
good composition Brian....petersmile
Brian Walbey: She is serene Peter, they all are at times, then there's those other times!
A well-placed Maureen smile
Brian Walbey: She must have known I wanted to take this photo, usually I ask her to move smartly out of picture!

The watcher in the landscape. And a bench, and a tree!!!

It does look a lovely spot.
Brian Walbey: My three favourites all in one picture Mike.
This is so beautiful!! I love how little Maureen shows how large that tree is!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Elizabeth. I will tell Maureen you said she is little, it will make her day.
