Sutton Bonington - St.Michaels 2/5

St. Michael's Church, Sutton Bonington, is a 13th-century Grade II Listed building. It consists of a nave of four bays with clerestory, chancel, aisles, south porch and an embattled, Perpendicular west tower with a lofty spire 135 feet high, and a clock and six bells. The south aisle has circular piers with moulded capitals, the north aisle octagonal piers with leaf capitals. The arches are identical each side. Round the base of the piers are stone seats, a foot high.

Brian Walbey: For what was a small village they managed to build a very attractive church.
I like the greenish tones! Very pretty, Brian!
Brian Walbey: The stonework seems to have a slight greenish tint and I like that the altar cloth etc.is a similar colour myself.

The stone is an interesting colour Brian with a silver and green look
Brian Walbey: Yes the stone there did seem to have a green tint to it.

As tidy in as out, Brian. A well cared for Church
Brian Walbey: Very much loved I think Lisl. A lady was there doing the flowers for Sunday and we had a long talk about the church and its people.
