From Stoneywell Cottage 1/2

A month or so ago I showed you Stoneywell House, a relevantly new property taken over by the National Trust, and which is only about 15 minutes drive from our home. The cottage is set in the beautiful Charnwood Forest area of Leicestershire and this is a view out over part of the forest from the front entrance to the cottage’s garden.

Now...that's a view!
Brian Walbey: We feel gifted to live only a short drive from this lovely countryside.
Jolie vue sur ce coin de verdure.

A very tranquil scene Brian. I shall be interested in Stoneywell, I didn't think the NT were taking on any more properties. So it must be special
Brian Walbey: Stoneywell is a very special property as my short series a few weeks back showed.
A nice view to have from your garden Brian
Brian Walbey: If only it was from my garden but it is only a very short drive for us to get up into the Charnwood hills into this lovely countryside, indeed you must have driven through some of it when you met Richard in Lougborough a few years ago.
Your Osborne house series was a fine reminder of a place I like very much
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, part 2 starts tomorrow. For a while I'm cutting back on 7-day series and indeed shortly they will be only 5 days with two new series starting for a few weeks, a Saturday set and a different Sunday set, I seem to have accumulated so many images from visiting different places this year with another visit to the Peak District starting on Saturday, hence we haven't managed to get to Droitwich or Bath as we'd planned.

A green and pleasant land - I like the composition.
Brian Walbey: As you can see we live in a nice part of the country once away from the towns and cities.
A lovely spot, Brian.
Brian Walbey: And only a short drive away from home Richard.

Italy looks very lush. Hampshire is looking quite drab as it has had very little rain for two months now, apart from some yesterday and some more is expected tomorrow.
