Wollerton Old Hall Garden 3/7

The garden is one of those split into individual rooms, each slightly different than the other and this is a collection of just a few of the paths and gateways one negotiates walking round the garden between those areas.

A garden of portals...how interesting!
Brian Walbey: It was fun walking around wondering what was through the next gateway.

Very cleverly planned out to make you want to walk through the gaps to discover what is on the other side
Brian Walbey: It was fun walking around wondering what was through the next gateway.
What a wonderful presentation Brian!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard.

Unusual to hear iof a garden plit into rooms, but I can see why
Brian Walbey: Going by the television gardening programmes dividing the garden up into rooms with hedges etc.is the in thing these days, our garden isn't large enough.
There is some sharp topiary here Brian.
Brian Walbey: Indeed but I wouldn't want to have to cut it all.

What a variety of gates in one garden. It looks as if they could have a picnic in a different section of the garden, every day of the week, without repeating the venue in that week.
Brian Walbey: The idea is that all the smaller areas of each part of the garden are different just like the rooms in a house.

a very lovely collection of views through a gate - yes, we call the parts of the garden "Gartenzimmer"/rooms.
Brian Walbey: I guess you perhaps remember walking through most of these gateways Philine.

What a lovely series of pictures Brian, I particularly like the one at the bottom right.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Anne, I felt this was the best way to present all these gateways.

A very clever presentation, Brian. I image that this would make a wonderful presentation for one your church groups. I like the feeling of infinity in the bottom second left image.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Alan. I have it in mind to do an A/V.at some time of these gardens.
Wonderful gateways and topiary, we must call again. Just held back as dogs are not welcome, unlike Trentham.
Brian Walbey: Yes we would like to visit again if we are that way but at a different time of year.
Nice features, Brian.
Brian Walbey: A surprise through every entrance Tom.
I love this montage of doors / entry ways!!!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Elizabeth, and also thanks for taking up your valuable time to look back this far.
