Chatsworth - The Grounds & Garden 12/14

One of a series I took during a visit to Chatsworth in September last year. I said the other day there are lots of sculptures in the Chatworth garden and this one caught my eye set in front of the beautiful backgound of the Derbyshire Peak District as it is.

I love everything about this one! The depth, the sculpture placement, the variety of greens, the clouds...it's a wall hanger!!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bonnie.

He has such a fine view, Brian, that he has rested there too long to take it in and an opportunistic lichen has taken advantage and established itself on his...umh...pudenda.
Brian Walbey: I've never heard it called that before, over here we usually say k**b smile

Jolie statue. On dirait qu'elle domine la vallée.
Brian Walbey: For a human being it is a lovely view.
it's a great marble sculpture and a superb landscape behind it Brian... well done....petersmile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Peter.
Looks like he doesn't mind being alone in this lovely place. Fine clouds too.
Brian Walbey: It is a lovely place to be in whether one is a statue or a human being.
I really love this comp, Brian! It is a great sculpture - and even a more wonderful background!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Elizabeth, I rate this among my best photos from last year to be honest.
What a sight with this light Brian!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard.
I missed this, too, Brian. Man alive. Where were we???
Brian Walbey: There are so many things to see at Chatsworth, I think I photographed almost every statues, but I haven't a clue who they all represent.

Lovely isn't it, just look at that rolling countryside and dramatic sky
Brian Walbey: The beauties of Chatsworth, Derbyshire Chris, you must pay this district a visit during one of your expeditions with Chad.
He must get a bit cold dressed like that Brian
Brian Walbey: Indeed Bill, the cold shrivels everything up !!

Man taming the landscape, Brian
Brian Walbey: And what a landscape to tame Lisl.
Could this be a David, Brian?
Brian Walbey: It might be Chad, although there are loads of these statues without any names on at all.
I think the mosquitoes are bothering him. Nice shot, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Mary.

Excellent composition. What a place - they even have lawn under the copses down there.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Louis. That lawn is just a small part of hundreds of hectares of grass parkland, this whole place is enormous.
a rather nice look out point. effectively composed, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ayush.
I like this Brian, a nice composition.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Frank.

Now there's a fine view. I assume that the vale between here and the trees in the background is part of Chatsworth Estate? Did you go into the shop and she the "Villager Jim" photos and other items? I've been following him on Facebook for some time now.
Brian Walbey: yes that area is all part of the estate. We went into the shop but I don't recall the photos you mention.
