Darley Moor Classic Races - Part 1 6/6

BMW BEASTIE!

I caught the action shot of the 998cc.BMW K100 sidecar outfit of Alan Warner and Ian Tennant before getting the lower shot of driver and machine in the paddock later on. What a large engine that BMW is, hence the title.  The second part of this series will continue a week this coming Monday.

La BMW est impressionnante.
Brian Walbey: Anything bMW is impressive Martine, but out of my price range.
that is some wild looking machine Brian... look at the size of that engine block... i like the shot showing the driver in street clothes....petersmile
Brian Walbey: That engine is a big lump isn't it but no doubt quite powerful.

I think BMW was struggling to make a tight water-jacket for this engine, Brian...the engine capacity is not great for a sidecar outfit.
Brian Walbey: I would imagine the engine is quite heavy, certainly its shape doesn't allow for it to be mounted in a low style outfit.

This man loves his machine, just look at him!
Brian Walbey: Pride and joy comes to mind Chris.
That is quite a beast Brian
Brian Walbey: Isn't it just, I guess the whole outfit must be quite heavy to drive.
It just shows you the passion that these drivers have for their machines Brian!
Brian Walbey: he's looking at his pride and joy I suspect Richard.
More like a car engine, Brian...I know nothing about bikes, other than what looks good to me.
Brian Walbey: I thought that Frank, if it comes from a bike then it would be a heavy solo to ride.

It is a big bride of an engines. Good job it has a sidecar to give it some stability.
Brian Walbey: It would be a and heavy engine to try and use in a solo, especially when cornering.
