Well, Brian, this has got my interest.
Brian Walbey: I'm pleased to hear that Ray.

You have so much history and I love this hilly scene. The gate is beautiful.
Brian Walbey: I have posted this gate before from my 2014 visit to stay at this farm. This is only about 10 minutes from Chatsworth so you have been in this area, and the church is the one just down the road from the entrance to Chatsworth.

A relatively unknown county to me, like Leicestershire it must have a wealth of hidden charms
Brian Walbey: Derbyshire covers a large area and is beautiful, as is Leicestershire, indeed we only commented yesterday as we drove home cross country from Hinckley just how lovely it is round our way. We, of course, are not that familiar with your area, we hope to put that right some time soon.

Good that you will be opening the gate on all this for us, Brian
Brian Walbey: Derbyshire is a lovely county, I will be showing some more of it next year to add to that I've shown already.
It's like a puzzle, Brian, where every piece has its part to fill.
Brian Walbey: I suppose it does look like that really, thanks Ginnie.
This is a county that I have yet to explore properly Brian, your series will no doubt wet my appetite.

A lovely and inviting presentation Brian!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard, I hope you enjoy what I will be showing you all.
I love those stone fences.
Brian Walbey: Stone walls are used all over the country in lieu of fencing, and have been for centuries, where there is a ready supply of stone.

The young man seems to be lovesick. Derbyshire looks very English. I hope to see some sheep, too.
Brian Walbey: The young man is a mannequin in a museum and was made with that staring look. You will see some sheep this coming Saturday, but not quite what you were expecting?

Aye, you have the new year properly planned.

I like the highlighting sun in your main picture.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Louis. I have taken so many photos over the last few years that I have my planned uploads sorted at least until July, but I can change my mind dependant upon what I photograph between now and then,.

A series I will especially look forward to. At one time, I was thinking of living in Derbyshire when I retire but now just about every road has a 50mph speed limit on it which would probably drive me crazy! I know what speed it's safe to travel at!
Brian Walbey: Surprisingly some of the main Peak District area roads are quite capable of being a 60mph limit I feel, the A6 up from Belper to Matlock is a real pain in the proverbial, the limit changes all the time on the open road stretches!
A fine county so i look forward to seeing it
Brian Walbey: We are so pleased to be living only an hour or just over away from the southern end of the Peak District proper.
The three small photos in this collage add so much depth to the valley and fields behind them Brian... good presentation....petersmile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Peter, there is so much to see in the whole Peak District area.
A lovely Derbyshire scene!
Brian Walbey: The place is full of them isn't it Tom.
A beautiful montage Brian, and pleased to see you didn't take my comments about the captions too much to heart, thanks for the explanation! smile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Fred, no I wasn't offended, I wouldn't have stayed on SC as long as I have (8 years) if the only comments were things like 'nice picture'all the time.
