York - On The River 4/7

Travelling in the opposite direction to Tuesdays image we are back at the little ruined tower about which I can’t find any information. I’m posting this one because the craft we are passing is the sister one to the one which we are on board. Initially we decided to sit inside as it was quite windy at the time but in the end we moved outside on the top and I was able to take a decent selection of pictures as we went along.

This red boat seems cruizing at the same pace as yours Brian!
Brian Walbey: They drift along at a steady pace Richard giving one time to take in all the sights either side of the river.

I think sitting on top was your best choice Brian
Brian Walbey: yes it was in the end Chris, just a bit windy.

Thank you, Brian...very informative.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ray.
This is a very busy waterway, a different lifestyle than we are used to seeing.
Brian Walbey: This is May, come the main summer months York is heaving with people, not just from the U.K.but from all over the world, so i guess the river will be a bit more busy then.
I hope you all waved. I would have been on top too. Nice capture Brian
Brian Walbey: I didn't wave Janet, too busy with my camera smile

Oh, the narrowboats can here be seen, too.
Brian Walbey: No doubt here will be a lot of them tied up in the summer months.

Sitting out on top allows many more photo opportunities
Brian Walbey: Yes I'm glad we went out on the top despite the strong wind.
the tower speaks for itself Brian... it has seen much... i love the English canal boats....petersmile
Brian Walbey: Indeed Peter, I wish I could find out more about it. I guess when you saw the narrow boats over here last year they were something completely different to what you have in Canada.

That tower really does intrigue, Brian

It has to be done, Brian; you don't get too many chances to see York so best to make the most of it by travelling on deck.
Brian Walbey: Yes I'm glad we went up top after all as the Friday and Saturday pictures will show.
Did you wave at each other as you passed Brian?
Brian Walbey: I can't remember to be honest Chad.
