photoblog image Anderby Creek, Lincolnshire

Anderby Creek, Lincolnshire

During our Lincolnshire holiday in May we drove out to Anderby Creek, a fairly isolated little village on the coast between Skegness to the south and Mabelthorpe to the north. Apart from some caravan parks, a pub, a couple of shops and some houses there is nothing else there to spoil the peace and quiet along this part of the coastline, apparently the village is protected by a preservation order that keeps the noisy and ugly amusement arcades and night-clubs away.

What a lovely image!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ray, it was blowing heavens hard when I took this, sand all over the place!
Nice, Brian, looks like the desert I was in at the weekend...smile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Frank. Unlike your desert this didn't have any of things you and I don't mention any more!

Very nice too Brian, I always associate Lincolnshire with mud rather than sand
Brian Walbey: The Lincolnshire coast, away from the Skegness and Mablethorpe is very much like this all along, it leads on from North Norfolk on the other side of the Wash.
Such a beautiful landscape, Brian!!
Brian Walbey: Lovely isn't it. You might like to read Franks comment and my reply to this picture.

This is your first beach photo - I like it! I didn't think that Lincolnshire has sea areas. A proper village to keep away all the amusements ... I hate in England.

We have friends at church who have their own caravan and take it to a site at this place at least once a year for a couple of weeks.
A haven between two awful places Brian
Brian Walbey: Very much so Bill. Some of the smaller resorts along that coast aren't too bad though.
What a gorgeous scene this is. I would imagine this beach is filled with sunbathers now.
Brian Walbey: It is a lovely beach although the wind was blowing like mad when I took this. It is a good place for sunbathers, but perhaps not today, it is very dull and overcast here in the east at the moment.

It looks like a lovely place, Brian. Just how nature intended.

Looks like it goes for miles Brian. A lovely unspoilt bit of coastline there

Lovely sky Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chad, the clouds were moving fast because it was blowing a gale almost when I took this, one of the first postings from my new TZ60.

We'll I'm amazed; I would never have guessed that this is Lincolnshire - I always though of Lincolnshire as being potato fields! This looks to be a,lots as good as parts of northern Scotland smile
Brian Walbey: Lincolnshire is quite a pretty county Alan, the Wolds in particular are very scenic and the coast is rather like parts of North Norfolk with sand and dunes etc., just ignore Skegness and Mablethorpe!

That looks like the North Sea with shoreline, Brian
Brian Walbey: The Lincolnshire coast, excluding Skegness and Mablethorpe, is very much like parts of North Norfolk with sand dunes etc.and has good beaches.
Great sky, Brian!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Tom, those clouds were moving quite quickly, it was almost blowing a gale at the time.
i love you point of view in this photo from behind the dunes and the grass Brian... with just wedge of sea and a magnificent deep blue sky with bright fluffy clouds....petersmile
Brian Walbey: I took several Peter and this one appealed to me the most.
