A Visit To Melbourne, Derbyshire 6/7

Walking back from the lake at Melbourne I rather liked this wall, house and corner with the tower of the local church showing itself above them all. I presume the stone must come from a local source, there are a lot of local buildings made from it.

What is the significance of that ball on the end-post, Brian...showing the entrance to a basketball stadium, perhaps?
Brian Walbey: Not quite Ray, but balls on pillars always were a decorative part of posh estates.

A charming timeless scene
Brian Walbey: This little corner certainly is Chris.
I love all the shadows, from the tree branches
Brian Walbey: Yes that's one of the benefits of the lower angle light in the spring isn't it.
What a beautiful scene Brian! I feel like having a walk around the corner.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard. If you get time to look in tomorrow then round the corner you will go.
Yes it's a fine composition Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks Janet, I just crossed my fingers that nobody came round the corner as I pressed the shutter.
Love the shadowed bottom.

I can see the attraction here but also of the appeal of the dappled sunlight.
Brian Walbey: Yes in that light I just felt it made a really nice picture.
Even the shadows add such nice textures to the image.

Lovely scene, Brian.
