Felley Priory - April, 2015 3/7

The Priory house itself has a very long history with architectural styles from several centuries. I particularly liked this very decorative chimney and the clock, weather vane and bell on the end of this old barn.

two beautiful shots, Brian. the reds of the bricks really stand out nicely against the blue sky. i like the moose (is it?) up there.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ayush. It will be a large Stag, we don't have Moose in this country.
i like everything about both of these wonderful photos Brian....petersmile
Brian Walbey: Thanks peter.
Great details!! smile Is that a moose on the weather vane?
Brian Walbey: Thanks Elizabeth. It will be a very large Stag, we don't have Moose's in the U.K.
Wonderful details Brian! Thank you for the history link.

The chimney is particularly striking, Brian - what patience to build that, it must be a trade in itself
Brian Walbey: There is quite a good selection of chimneys on this house Lisl.

Very nice too Brian, lots of features to enjoy
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chris.
The brick work is astounding, Brian, to be sure, but you know I skipped a beat when I saw the weathervane! Do you know, I found a moose vane this past Sunday and I asked Astrid if they have moose here in the Netherlands??? HA!
Brian Walbey: I thought I would like this Ginnie, hence I posted it on one of your SC.days. It will be a large Stag on the weather vane, there have always been lots of Deer in this part of the country.

The top of the chimney is very elegant, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Lovely brickwork isn't it.
Nice brickwork here Brian.
Brian Walbey: Lovely isn't it.
I love that clock
Brian Walbey: I suspect the clock is not quite as old as the rest of the building.
The chimney is really special.
Brian Walbey: Lovely brickwork isn't it.

That weather vane seems to be a stag uttering its mating call. Fitting for a priory smile

Well presented.
Brian Walbey: I suspect the Stag is modelled at the rutting season Louis.

yes, I can see what attracted you to these features. I knew that Ginnie would like the weathervane. I especially like the colour and tezture of the brick.
Brian Walbey: Yes I always think of Ginnie these days when I see weather vanes. If you go along the M1 on one of your journeys mid-year this place is only half a mile off Junction 27, and it has a very fine tearoom smile
I love the treatment of the 2 images Brian... well done
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ronky.
Tis a fine old chimney pot and Ginnie will love the weather vane
Brian Walbey: There is a fine collection of chimneys on the house Bill, and yes, Ginnie did like the weathervane.

Fabulous pictures, love the chimney an thta weathervane is wonderful, Ginnie caught a moose too last week.....
Brian Walbey: Thanks Astrid, sounds like Ginnie has passed the weathervane bug on to you. I think the Moose is actually supposed to be a very large Stag.
Nice detail shots, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Tom.
I like them too... especially with the brick backdropped with the blue... then the clouds.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Jacquelyn.
