Felley Priory - April, 2015 1/7

A while back I posted a short series of pictures taken by Maureen at Felley Priory, a garden just north of Nottingham. We paid the garden a visit in April, Daffodil time, and this is a picture of the back of the house where it looks out over the main garden area.

Very nice with a lovely reflection!
Brian Walbey: We were lucky it was such a sunny day, all my photos took advantage of that.
this is a great composition with the reflections Brian... the garden is very well taken care of... the carved hedges must take up a lot of time to maintain them....petersmile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Peter, I certainly wouldn't want to be one of the gardeners who has to do that hedge, this is just part of it!

All very good, Brian, but I especially am taken with all those chimneys.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ray, more of chimneys on Wednesday.

An image bound to charm the judges on any occasion Brian
Brian Walbey: Indeed it might charm some of them Chris, and my fellow club members, but then be classified as 'chocolate box', how I hate that description, and therefore be classed as not worthy of further consideration, after all these years as long as I like it i don't give a b**g*r what judges think.

Lots of lovely layers, Brian
Brian Walbey: Yes that's one thing I like about this picture myself.

This looks very idyllic and there is one thing I absolutely love, the chimneys...
Great reflections too.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Astrid, it is a nice place to visit. More of the chimneys on Wednesday.
That is a fine set of chimneys Brian. The house looks quite inviting.
Brian Walbey: More of the chimneys on Wednesday Chad. The house has quite a history but is not open to visitors.
A handsome building nicely reflected in the pond Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, the house, sadly, is not open to the public.
Wonderful with these layers Brian!
Brian Walbey: Yes that's one thing I like about this picture myself.

So this is where friar Tuck is spending his retirement, maintaining a formal garden for the priory. Lovely reflection caught here.
Brian Walbey: This place has been all sorts of things and has quite a history over the years. I have some other shots using that lake for reflections, a couple occur in this series.
That is a very large house!
Brian Walbey: It has been built up over the centuries and has quite a history.

Brian Walbey: Thanks Mike. I have some other shots using that lake for reflections, a couple occur in this series.
I like everything about this, Brian, especially being able to say it looks so English. smile
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Ginnie.
Don't know that one, Brian - I'll have to take a look!
Brian Walbey: Worth the journey Tom, just half a mile of Junction 27.
