From My 1970's Darkroom (1 of a few)

ERNIE’S PHOTO

The last in this short set of portrait photos shows one of my fellow club members at the time in action at one of the club studio sessions I’ve referred to this week. I do remember this model, a nice man called Ernie, I must admit my pictures of him weren’t very good but Maureen came up with one of him that was excellent but which doesn't scan very well.

The photog needs a box to stand on, Brian!

smile
Brian Walbey: Trouble with using a Rollieflex type camera.
I love how you can also see the photographer
Brian Walbey: That was why I took this one Chantal.

Happy memories eh
Brian Walbey: Sort of Chris, portrait sessions are not really my thing these days to be honest.
I remember going to a studio session at my old camera club many years and it put me off this sort of photography for life. This is the pick of the series for me Brian ( no offence Maureen....you were the best looking smile)
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, she was certainly the best looking as far as I was concerned, still is of course. This sort of thing isn't my cup of tea either, if there is a portrait evening at my club I give that meeting a miss, as I have done for many years now.
It seems to me that the photographer is using a "Hasselblad" camera Brian...Great capture!
Brian Walbey: Definitely a camera of that type Richard, probably a Rollieflex or similar.
A good one, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Tom, something different.

I didn't realise that Maureen was (is?) a member of the camera club, too. My dad had a Rollieflex around this time; he loved it. I like the use of light here with the photographer is in shadow.
Brian Walbey: Maureen was a club member until our Chris was born in August, 1976, and her own Praktica SLR kit, now she does other things instead. I'm featuring a week of scans of some of her prints in June.
I like this shot... that includes the photographer.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Jacquelyn.
