Devon Odds And Ends 1/7

My last but one series from our short (and wet) Devon holiday in October is of a house along the sea front promenade at Sidmouth. Bill posted a photograph (here) last year from his 2014 visit to Sidmouth when this fine villa was free of all this scaffolding. I guess it must be having some sort of a facelift.

Looks good behind the scaffolding filter, Brian.
Brian Walbey: I thought that when Bill posted his picture some time ago.
I love the color - I hope they don't change that!
Brian Walbey: It certainly stands out doesn't it.
I just hope they didn't change the colour Brian!

I guess an ornate house like this needs a lot of upkeep, Brian
Brian Walbey: Yes indeed, it would be great to know the history of it.
Some women have to do this every day, Brian. grin (Thankfully, I'm not one of them.)
Brian Walbey: And most of those women look so false I wonder if it was worth their while Ginnie, you and Astrid certainly don't need such things (flirt, flirt) smile

It is a building of considerable character isn't it
Brian Walbey: yes it is, I'd like to know a bit more about it.

Maybe a fresh layer of paint, I do hope they keep the same colour.
For some strange reason, I love the lines of the scaffolding...The stepladder makes the picture.
Brian Walbey: It stands out with that colour, my favourite bits are the windows, I wouldn't mind those on my house, although they would look totally out of character.
a lot to be done I can see
Brian Walbey: Indeed Chantal, I didn't see any workmen so I don't know what was being done.

Having its pinkness refreshed no doubt. Super looking house.
Brian Walbey: I didn't see any workmen to know what was being done, but I would like to know more about this house.
Love the matching door to the windows.
Brian Walbey: The windows are the part I really like, I wouldn't mind those on my house, although they would look totally out of character.

I wonder that the building needs any scaffolding - it looks very proper! Eventually roof repair?
Brian Walbey: I would like to know more about this house. There wasn't any workmen about so I don't know what was being done.
It was previously painted white if I recall as one of the flats had recently been sold and the picture showed the earlier colour. If you google Beach house you will see how it looked before
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, I will do that.
fine shot of this handsome building. thanks for the link to Bill's version as well
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ayush.
great start to this series Brian...love pink
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ronky, this is a mixed bag of pictures this week.

Good to see that they are looking after the property Brian.
Brian Walbey: Indeed Chad, it is a fine looking building despite the colour!
Looks like a bit of so-called Strawberry Hill Gothic!
Brian Walbey: Yes I like the building but not too sure about the colour.

I thought it seemed familiar. I certainly hope they are not putting in different windows.
Brian Walbey: The windows are my favourite part of this house.
