Breedon Church Re-visited

Not all that long ago I featured a series on the parish church of St.Mary and St.Hardulph at Breedon-on-the-Hill, Leicestershire. This is the normal shot that most people take when they visit the church and I don’t believe you saw this side when I posted the earlier series. This side of the church, as you can see, comes with the mandatory lone seat and lone tree, what a bonus!

For me, Brian, the tree and bench are the main things in this fine image.
Brian Walbey: They do add nicely to this really old church.
Love that old wooden bench
Brian Walbey: I think it must be quite an old bench although this is on the top of a hill and it would get all sorts of weather on it.

It's delightful. The tower looks disproportionally big in comparison with he rest of the church.
Brian Walbey: The tower is all that remains of a much older building, perhaps that is why.
As usual what catches my eye is the tree.
Brian Walbey: A lovely tree isn't it, very much a churchyard type.
Superb scene Brian. That bench is a gem!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard, and I suspect that bench is quite old as well.
What is an English churchyard with a yew or two.
Brian Walbey: Indeed Martin, this churchyard has quite a lot of trees round the other side of the church.
You got a fine day for the visit, Brian!
Brian Walbey: A fine early Autumn Saturday morning and we followed this with lunch in the tearoom at the garden centre at the bottom of the hill, can't do much better than that can you.
A wonderful tree making a welcoming sight going up to the church Brian. Nice shot
Brian Walbey: Yes this church does have a really nice approach to it. I have some lovely pictures of my daughter standing outside the doors when she was a bridesmaid to one of her best friends about 5 years ago at this church.

Heavy Leics stonework as well.
Brian Walbey: Very much so Richard.
