Bolehill Farm 3/7

The rest of this weeks images are pictures I took of the beautiful scenery on and surrounding this farm at which we rented a cottage in June. Taken looking over the gate in yesterdays posting but looking more to the right of that view, what a fine line of trees in the foreground and down in the valley below is the beautiful Lathkill Dale which we walked many years ago when our children were young.

Lovely.

Makes me wonder if there is a coo taking a candid shot of you and your best gal, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Gorgeous scenery isn't it Ray, but at the same time just a bit different to that you saw down in the South West.
Such a beautiful view! Love your comp - with the tree framing!
Brian Walbey: Yes the tree was perfectly placed for the framing, except a judge would say those branches aren't connected to anything, well I like it anyway and so do all of you, that's what counts in my book.
A delightful scene with your framing Brian!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard.

This almost looks like Gloucestershire, Brian, though I know it isn't
Brian Walbey: Sadly I'm not familiar with Gloucestershire apart from the images from you and Chris but if you came up to this part of Derbyshire you would find a difference I'm sure.

What beautiful countryside this is
Brian Walbey: This countryside is one reason the Peak District is so popular, and on its edges are Sheffield, Chesterfield, Manchester, Derby and Nottingham, to name but a few places so it almost has a captive visitor base.
When I say this looks so English, Brian, I am telling you I am in awe of your countryside!
Brian Walbey: I'm sure you would love it in this part of the Peak District. here's a thought, pipe-dreaming only of course, Bolehill Farm has eight cottages with 25 beds among them, I bet SC.could easily fill the lot for a weekend.

Oh, this photo could make my day again - what a lovely countryside - I should visit England next year again- you are awakening my longing ...
Brian Walbey: It is a lovely area Philine and we are lucky that it is only a drive of about 1.5 hours from us. Didn't I read that you already have another cathedral holiday arranged for next year or am I mistaken.
A gorgeous landscape dressed in summer colours. Can't beat this.
Brian Walbey: It is a lovely area and this farm is right in the middle of a nice part of it.
What a wonderful place to have lovely memories of, Brian.
Brian Walbey: yes we really enjoyed our stay, hopefully we will return.

It is glorious, as you say. I like your framing very much. I've walked through Lathkill Dale on several occasions, once in the depths of a proper winter with snow on the ground.
Brian Walbey: It must have been very impressive in the snow if perhaps slippery going.
A delight Brian. You are doing a good job of promoting the fine county of Derbyshire
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, Derbyshire is a lovely county in general.
England's green and pleasant land, eh?
Brian Walbey: Very much so Tom.
Yes it's gorgeous countryside there by the look of it. A very nice place to have stayed Brian
Brian Walbey: Quite different to Cornwall Janet but a lovely place to go.

These views are very soulful to me. I can just sit in the grass and watch for a few hours and relax...
Great greens here.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Astrid, quite different to where you and Ginnie come from, and also different to where Chad, Chris and Lisl live as well.

Very fine Brian. Funny but, whenever I see a distant hill with a clump of trees on it, I am sure that I recognise it, but alas, they all look the same really.
Brian Walbey: They sort of look the same Chad, all I know is at my age they become more difficult to walk up every year smile

This green and pleasant land could have been written for this view. Very nice.
Brian Walbey: It certainly should Mike, a fine part of the country.
