What county is this, Brian?
Brian Walbey: This is what is called the White Peaks area of the Derbyshire Peak District, lots of dales and lovely countryside. Further north is the Dark Peak area with the moorland which is a lot more stark. Between where I took this and the far hillside is Lathkill Dale, a beautiful place to walk, which we did many years ago with our children. You, and your professional walking friends such as Chris would enjoy walking through there, and there are nice pubs and tearooms available as weel at either end.
What a wonderful pastoral scene Brian!
Brian Walbey: It is a beautiful area of this part of our Peak District Richard.
Oh, how lovely. June is beautiful in the country.
Brian Walbey: More to come as well this week, we were so lucky with both the cottage and the weather.
Beautiful, Brian. Even the clouds behaved for your shot.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Pauline, it was a nice place to stay, and lovely surroundings.
One of the best months of the year everything here looks fresh and green
Brian Walbey: We like holidaying in May or June, all the fresh greens really lift ones spirit.

Some of the glorious English countryside; can't beat it. No sign of a footpath through the gate but I bet there are plenty nearby.
Brian Walbey: Yes this is fine countryside to look out at. Plenty of footpaths round a bout and the lovely Lathkill Dale just across the way, with a fine tearoom at one end smile
Idyllic Derbyshire scenery!
Brian Walbey: Takes some beating Tom.
Very pretty looking over (and through) the gate!
Brian Walbey: I think I said to you the other day how lovely this area of our country is, we really liked staying there.
