TREE SPIRIT

Having spent the morning in Tideswell, a small town in the Peak District, we found a picnic spot to eat our lunch and came across this old tree stump. I presume the carving is supposed to represent some sort of tree spirit or sprite.

I like the charm, solidness and quietness of Tideswell. I think the same might be said of this carving.
Brian Walbey: Indeed Richard, our first visit to Tideswell and we thought it a nice town, and it goes without saying I liked the church.

Very effective isn't it, it must take some doing to achieve this
Brian Walbey: Yes it is quite imaginative.
And so the tree lives on and on and on. I like that, Brian!
Brian Walbey: Indeed it does Ginnie, a very good idea on someone's part.

I love it, Brian. It's gorgeous. Anything with wood gets my vote.

Good use of an old tree stump.
Brian Walbey: Indeed Alan, better than just digging up the stump.
I like what the artist has done........a fine shot Brian smile
Brian Walbey: So do I Martin, a fine idea.
What a great idea for a tree stump, Brian. Wonder if the artist signed this work.
Brian Walbey: I didn't see any sign of who done this but it is a very good idea isn't it.
