A Birmingham Day Out 11/21

LUNCH BREAK

Out in the square of Brindleyplace people were busy going about whatever took their fancy at the time and I managed to capture these three individuals all doing their own thing although the young lady seems to have caught on that I was taking a picture. This is where a long zoom would come in handy but most of the time I’m too lazy to carry it about with me.

It is a fine shot, Brian.

A long lens can be good, but can also draw attention to you.
Brian Walbey: I guess your right about that Ray thinking about it.
I like the kid hanging off her dads' back in the background!
Brian Walbey: So do I now you mention it, I'd not noticed that before.
I agree with Elizabeth... and her purple coat.
Brian Walbey: I hadn't noticed the father and child before, concentrating too much on the main characters.

They are doing what people do - all the time..
Brian Walbey: You mean texting of course Chad, sad isn't it.

Ah.. now I see other Costa drinkers! I wonder how people managed to have a life before mobile phones?
Brian Walbey: My mobile phone, which is rarely switched on, is a bog-standard thing for making calls and texts. Maureen tells me off for getting it out in cafes sometimes and pretending to do what 90% of the other customers seem to be doing instead of eating their meals smile
Looks like a good place to park your bum
Brian Walbey: It is quite a pleasant square Janet.
I think she is choking on a Subway roll
Brian Walbey: We had our first, and perhaps last, Subway 'thing' in Derby the other week, it contained more salt than has ever been mined in Droitwich I reckon!

50 years from now we will have evolved our eyesight and fingers to be able to use a mobile phone without squinting!
Brian Walbey: 50 years from now I probably won't be bothered about mobiles Mike smile
I love everyday scenes
Brian Walbey: A great scope for candid shots but I'm not as brave as Richard Trim to be honest to take many of this type.
Everyone seems to be in his/her own world Brian! Fine candid capture.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard, most young people seem to be in their own worlds with their phones etc.,even when they are with their friends.

It is good to be light in equipment Brian.
Brian Walbey: These days I can't be bothered to carry a lot of gear around Chad.
Like the composition and the triangle made by the three main characters, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Beverly, that triangle was a stroke of good fortune I think.
