Triptych Week 3/7

THE HAT STALL

On 20th.January this year I posted the image on the left of the little boy and his parents at the hat stall at the Ashby country show last year. This triptych includes two others I took at the same time, it most certainly was a very busy stall with it being a hot and sunny afternoon.

Last Tuesday evening we finished off the 2013/14 season at my camera club with the usual audio/visual sequence competition. Seven of us entered and the winner was Sue Hutton, our Club Chairman, with her video Nanpanton Reservoir - A Year. This small reservoir is about 10 minutes drive from us on the edge of Loughborough and is a favourite spot for walkers and anglers, my son being one of the latter. Sue photographed the reservoir through all the months of 2013 and produced this beautiful sequence which I know you will enjoy if you can spare a few minutes to click on this link here .

Great advertising for the hat-stall, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Perhaps I should have a got a discount on the hat I bought, it was like the man's on the right.
Terrific little triptych, Brian!
I enjoyed the slideshow very much, a well deserved win.
Brian Walbey: Thanks on both counts Elizabeth.

This is a form of hat heaven you have produced here Brian
Brian Walbey: They were certainly very busy, it was a hot sunny day, I succumbed and bought one myself.

The Brits in silly hats - we are not very good at stylish, but practical I suppose.

I had a look at the video, some very pleasant photographs. I liked the frog mid swim a lot!
Brian Walbey: It was so sunny that day even I bought a hat Mike. Thanks for looking at Sue's video.
The hat stand seems to be quite popular Brian! Fine triptych.
Brian Walbey: It was that day Richard, it was hot and sunny, I bought a hat myself.
I like the headless hat shot in the middle the best. Your friend's montage was really beautiful. Some great shots in there.
Brian Walbey: It looks like the hats above are floating doesn't it. Thanks for looking at Sue's video.
Always tempting..........to try on a hat and see the difference, a great triptych Brian!

A beautiful video, I particularly liked the frog and of course: the mirror carp wink
Brian Walbey: I bought one myself because it was very hot and sunny. Thanks for looking at the video, that is one place my son goes fishing, there are some quite big carp in there among other species.
Another fine collage to give a good event impression
Brian Walbey: Thanks Chantal, a very busy stall on that day, it was hot and sunny.
A nice variety of hats to choose from, Brian. Thank you for providing the Sue Hutton link. Love the photographs and the way she presented them.
Brian Walbey: I even bought a hat myself Beverly, it was so hot and sunny. Thanks for looking at Sue's video.
I remember that post Brian...A fine take...
just viewed the video too..A worthy winner right?
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Ronke, I'm glad you watched the video.
There's nothing like a good hat, Brian...if you're one who wears one! HA! Great triptych.
Brian Walbey: I do wear a hat at times Ginnie, you will have noticed I am quite thin on top these days! And I did buy a hat off this stall, the sun was blazing down all day.

I hope it was a democratic decision Brian.
Brian Walbey: It was a democratic decision Chas, one member, one vote, I voted for this one rather than my own.
I take my hat off to you for this, Brian...smile
Brian Walbey: What do they say Frank, 'The old ones are always the best' smile
Plenty of hats to choose from, I've always fancied the Indiana Jones look, did they have bull whips also?
Brian Walbey: I go more for the look of the guy in the right hand picture, not the shorts though. No doubt I could have bought a whip from one of the farming stalls of which there were many.

What an excellent idea of Sue's - I can see you doing that sort of thing, Brian
Brian Walbey: I do that sort of thing Lisl, I currently have about 60+ different sequences and regularly go out to local organisations giving them presentations of anything between 30 to 90 minutes. You will find 20+ of those sequences here http://www.youtube.com/user/brianaw111 should you wish to pass some time away now and again.
Some unpleasant shorts on view Brian grin The video is very good but would have been better in HD
Brian Walbey: Yes I'm not one for shorts these days Bill. Sue has read the comments you've all made on her video, she did make the following remark re your mention of HD, 'To the gentleman who asked why it wasn't in HD, it was only because I didn't want to wait for ages for the file to upload to YouTube. I could reproduce it in HD, if it's ever required.' I think that's fair comment, it does take a while to upload stuff to YiouTube sometimes I find.

I have to wear a hat these days in the summer season (one reason I'm not keen on summer!). Looks like they were doing good trade. I expect at a different time, the anorak stall may have been busier smile I enjoyed the video; some great photos.
Brian Walbey: I wear a cap regularly in the winter and after I took these shots I bought one like the chap in the right hand image is wearing, it was a very sunny day. Thanks for looking at the video, Sue was pleased tor read everybody's. comments.
Another good one - and that presentation was worth first prize, I think smile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Tom on both counts.
