photoblog image St.Mary's Church, Attenborough 1/6

St.Mary's Church, Attenborough 1/6

(Today I celebrate my 2,000th.post since joining Shutterchance.) Last year we made a short trip out to the nature reserve at Attenborough, near Nottingham and then went on to the parish church of St.Mary the Virgin where refreshments are served several mornings during the week. I found this one of the best viewpoints of the building as it is surrounded by trees from most directions.

Congratulations on your 2000th post!!! Quite a milestone Brian!
I can see where this would be difficult to photograph- but you did well considering the trees!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Elizabeth. yes there aren't many places tog et a decent angle to see much of the church.

Good grief, 2000 fine images - congratulations Brian!

A wonderful milestone Brian - I wonder how many comments that equates to!!!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Mike, I dread to think how many comments, given and taken, that adds up to.
I like your POV, through the trees, Brian smile
Congratulations on the 2,000th!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Martin. There aren't many places to get a decent angle to see much of the church.
Congrats on 2000 shots. Time does fly.

I usually find its a yew tree which seems to spoil the best view of many churches. Well done on no. 2000!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Alan, this churchyard has trees most of the way round.

Congratulations on your 200th post. That is quite a number. And it is not only quantity, but quality as well. I hope we can enjoy many more pictures to come.
This picture is wonderful, love the framing by the trees.
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Astrid, plenty more to come, I've got a lot of slides to scan if I run out of new photos.
Congratulation on your 2,000th milestone Brian... now you could have picked up and straightened a few of these head stones to commemorate the occasion....petersmile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Peter. I like the leaning stones, it gives such places a feeling of just how long they have been there.
Congratulations on your 2000th Brian!
A very nice framing through the trees.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard. There are trees nearly all the way round this church.
2000 eh? A milestone to be proud of Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, I will have to get some more taken or scan a few more slides.

My congratulation! This is a finely framed composition - and the refreshments might be good as always in English churches wherever they are served, for example in Lincoln Cathedral, Rochester Cathedral, Truro Cathedral, Exeter Cathedral ...I prefer those tea rooms!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Philine. We arrived as they were about to stop refreshments so it was a very hurried affair, being a small village church they only opened it from 10.00 am.to Noon.
Well done Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks John.
