Ashby Show - People 1/7

Taken at the annual Ashby Show, near Ashby-de-la-Zouch in July. There was a very good stall selling all manner of hats to protect ones head from the Sun, indeed I bought one myself, but I just caught sight of this little lad looking up at his Dad, I wonder what was being said?

Like a Norman Rockwell moment!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bonnie, that's a very kind comparison.
Any number of conversations could be going on here- you've caught such great expressions on both of them!!
Brian Walbey: I was so busy shooting other people, metaphorically speaking, that I didn't see what happened after I took this.

I always enjoy this sort of picture, Brian - you can make up a story
Brian Walbey: Yes there must be a story, I didn't watch long enough to see the outcome.

He is saying can I have more money please dad
Brian Walbey: Very probably vintage, we've all been guilty of that I suspect.
begging with his dad
Brian Walbey: Very probably Chantal, we've all been guilty of that I suspect.

A hat for any occasion...and almost as many different kinds as there are people!
Brian Walbey: yes I bought a hat from there but I will not be wearing it at Cosford!!
You've caught this just right Brian!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Martin.

A rather odd looking image Brian in an enjoyable way. That stall looks very interesting.
Brian Walbey: It was a very good stall and I did by a summer hat, but I won't be wearing it at Cosford!
Whatever it was the lad looks less than impressed
Brian Walbey: I bet Dad's suggesting doing something the lad isn't even remotely interested in.
No,you can't! smile
Brian Walbey: That has a familiar ring to it Frank, both as a sayer and listener smile
Yes, I agree with Chantal's assessment. The young boy does have that pleading look on his face.

The hat on the shelf just above Mom appears to hovering, getting ready to land deftly on her head.
Brian Walbey: He certainly seems to want something that Dad's not interested in hearing about. I hadn't noticed the hat on the left.
lovely people shot Brian...he's probably admiring his dad as a cowboy!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ronky, he could well be, perhaps he wants a hat like Dads.
I want that one dad smile
Brian Walbey: Very likely, I can remember saying that do my dad, quite frequently smile
The little lad either likes or he is disgusted with his father's choice of hat Brian... it's a good candid shot....petersmile
Brian Walbey: That's a possibility Peter, one of those pictures to which we'll never have an answer.

''Dad ... you need a shave''
Brian Walbey: What a coincidence, so do I at the moment, I've had a lazy day today smile
I want a hat like yours Dad!
Great capture Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard, I suspect they don't make his Dads style small enough for young lads.

Oooh - I wish the balloon had been a couple of inches higher - it would be most surreal then Brian!
Brian Walbey: Indeed Mike, and then with the hat floating above head, which Beverly noticed, it would certainly be quite surreal.
Amazing what some people will do to avoid the camera smile
Brian Walbey: Indeed Tom smile
Doh! He's blown the ice cream money smile

Is he saying "Mummy has got a breast that looks like a balloon"? Unlikely at that age - I would hope!
Brian Walbey: Yes that one is floating up instead of sagging down!!
