Out Of The Ordinary 4/7

In the chapel at the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas is a beautiful carved diorama called the Storyteller, and which depicts Jesus telling a story to a group of children and adults. It is difficult to get a decent shot of the whole thing so this is just one small part of it, the craftsmanship on it is superb. More from the Arboretum in time to come.

I love the portion you've selected - as it appears complete and shows the detail very well!
Brian Walbey: I took several and this is the only one worth posting, it is not an easy thing to get it all in the frame. I will email you with the best shot of Jesus and the children, but as you will see it is out of focus a bit.
very nicely done, both, the carving and your shot of it.
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Ayush.
stunning wood craft
Brian Walbey: It is Chantal, sadly difficult to get the whole thing in one image.

Very interesting Brian|: a lot of work has gone into it
Brian Walbey: Indeed it has Chris, but difficult to photograph the whole thing.
This is new since we were last there. Must pay another visit this year.. This is beautifully done isn't it?
Brian Walbey: We've put off going there for ages, and it isn't really far from us. I took loads of photos during our visit. This is against the wall on the right hand side as you face the altar.

That is really something!
Brian Walbey: Indeed it is Mary, but difficult to photograph in one piece.
That is impressive, Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Frank, the whole Arboretum is worth a visit, and gives room for much thought as well.

This looks a bit wooden to me Brian.
Brian Walbey: Indeed it is Chad, but the whole thing is quite spectacular.
This is a Masterpiece Brian! Very nicely captured.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard. The whole thing is a joy to see, but it's difficult to get it all in.

I missed this when i went to the Arboretum; I never went in the chapel. A reason to go back in the spring! I like the tones here.
Brian Walbey: Over on the right hand wall as one faces the altar Alan.

The look like ghost children to me, Brian - I don't know why
Brian Walbey: Yes I agree. When one sees the whole thing I do wonder why these two children are apparently walking away because at the foot of the stairs is Jesus sitting telling a group of children a story, hence its title, The Storyteller.
Craftsmanship indeed, Brian!
Brian Walbey: Yes a lovely piece of work Tom.
very pleasant indeed Brian...despite all, you captured it well!
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much.
