Out Of The Ordinary 1/7

A mixed bag of images this week, some with a hint of humour as well I hope. We came across this sign in a yard off the main street in Grassington, a town in the Yorkshire Dales (of which more in time to come) during the summer. For the life of me I can’t work out quite what it is doing there!

Well at least none of the arrows are pointing to the bin!
Brian Walbey: smile I hadn't thought of that.

I think this would be a time when someone could steal the sign and get away with it, Brian. grin
Brian Walbey: I think they could also Ginnie.
It is there to confuse Southerners Brian
Brian Walbey: You mean like us Bill smile Strange folk these Northerners.

Looks like someone has rescued an old road sign.
Brian Walbey: I must admit it is a fine old sign, just a funny place to put it.
The owner was a forgetful chap? grin Good find, Brain
Brian Walbey: Trying to find his way to the shops perhaps.

Well spotted Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard.
It's covering a whole in the wall,Brian, being in Yorkshire, they wanted to save money,so.....
Brian Walbey: What a great idea Frank, being a southerner I wouldn't have thought of that smile
Perhaps the person who posted the sign was height-challenged, Brian, and was unable to put it higher where it could be plainly seen because he couldn't get his hands on a ladder at the time.
Brian Walbey: I suppose the little fence on the wall might have been added after the sign was put up.

They just want you to stay in town and don't wander off to another city. Great find smile
Brian Walbey: That could be true Astrid, this Yorkshire village is a real tourist tap.
Quite confusing Brian! Well spotted and captured.
Brian Walbey: Isn't it just Richard, thanks very much.

I've never managed to find away to park in Grassington so never lingered. In fact, i can't recall ever doing any walking in the immediate area. Must rectify that this year! Strnage place for a sign but good to see the old style of it.
Brian Walbey: The car park is at the Yorkshire Dales National Park Centre a short walk down the road from the main shopping area on the road that goes out towards Pateley Bridge. I still haven't worked out quite why this sign was in this spot.
