The Shakesperian Express 3/4

Another shot of the Class 165 diesel train I showed arriving in Stratford-Upon-Avon in Thursdays posting. Although it seems the station is now more or less unstaffed there was quite a few people got off this train when it arrived and also quite a few waiting to depart on it.  This is my 1900th.post since joing Shutterchance just over 6 years ago.

Happy 1900th, Brian...may there be oodles more...
Brian Walbey: Thanks Ray. Well I'm posted up to the end of March at the moment, with plenty more to come even if I never took another photo, which I do intend doing of course.
Congratulations, Brian!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Elizabeth.
I like trains certainly due to the fact that my grandfather was driving them many years ago
Brian Walbey: My father and I both worked for the railways, he until he retired, sadly neither of us drove the trains.

Fine units there 165s, plenty of room inside them because of the generous GW loading gauge. Stratford used to be a on a through route to Cheltenham & the west, the express Cornishman used to run on it and change engines here.
Brian Walbey: I thought it looked quite a good type of DMU. I hadn't realised Stratford wasn't a branch line, sadly it was certainly unstaffed the Sunday we were there, just a complicated machine for train and parking tickets.
Congratulations for your 1900th Brian!
Lovely colours here.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard, I wouldn't mind a trip on one of these, they look quite comfortable.
well done on your 1900th post...this trains look the same everywhere
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Aderonke.

The trouble with multiple units is that you can't just add an extra carriage or two in high demand. This looks quite modern.
Brian Walbey: No I guess you can't Richard, two compete 3-car units would have to be attached together I suppose. Chris says these are good vehicles to travel in.
Looking down the length of this train, Brian, reminds me somewhat of our Metro cars. Congratulations on this, your 1900th. post. Well done!
Brian Walbey: They are a similar type of machine Beverly, most suburban services are these type of vehicles nowadays. Thanks for the congrats.smile
