photoblog image Lake District Leftovers #2

Lake District Leftovers #2

One that didn’t make it in the series earlier this year. Moving on from yesterdays image you might have noticed a gate by the waters edge and this is it in close up, and again, in composition terms I thought it, and the fence posts, made a reasonable shot as foreground to the water and mountains behind.

A really beautiful composition! A little more water than when I was there!
Brian Walbey: Yes there had been quite a bit of rain up there before we went.

I think those geese want you to open the gate for them Brian!
Brian Walbey: They've got wings, they can fly over the fence much better than I can wade.

Water levels look high, Brian. I see the Brent geese stood on what appears to the back of a whale but is more likely a rock smile A beautiful view up towards Borrowdale.
Brian Walbey: Yes there had been rain before we went. It is a fine view whatever the weather isn't it.

Lots to see here. The mountains look wonderful.
Brian Walbey: Whatever the weather I suspect those mountains look good Mary.
This would make a good b&w I suspect Brian
Brian Walbey: Might give that a try Bill.

The drowned gate and fence makes this a very exciting image Brian
Brian Walbey: yes I guess the waters were high while we were up there.
Excellent capture of this scenic area! The water seems to have come in well past the gate, Brian. Is this a normal occurrence?
Brian Walbey: There had been quite a bit of rain before we went to the area Beverly, it is well known for being wet, all the mountains I guess.
Glad you shared this one Brian! like I said Lake district would be great to visit!
Brian Walbey: It took a long time for us to venture to the Lake District, it is quite a way from where we live, but I would say that if you ever do get the time and opportunity to go then don't hesitate, oh and take plenty of memory cards for your camera.
