photoblog image Beaumanor Hall #3

Beaumanor Hall #3

A last quick look at a corner of Beaumanor Hall near Loughborough where we went for lunch on my birthday in July. Being a person who likes “lone seat” genre pictures I couldn’t avoid this shot because it also has this most interesting lamppost nearby as well, and a fine set of steps leading up to the house also.

I really like this angle and your framing Brian...

i have taken so many pictures of buildings with perfect vertical and horizontal lines and the light standards are always leaning to one side or the other...

Congratulations !!!... you found one that was plumb and lined it up perfectly with the corner of Beaumanor Hall....petersmile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Peter. I didn't even have to use any software to get them all straight and vertical, full marks to the people who put the lamp in.
I really love this composition!!!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Elizabeth.

The seat looks to be of a different class to the building & background doesn't it
Brian Walbey: Yes not quite so attractive but still somewhere to sit and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

You're lucky when you can get everything you like in the same shot, Brian! smile
Brian Walbey: Indeed Ginnie, shame the camera has turned out to be a bit of a dud!

An up-market bus-stop, Brian?
Brian Walbey: Indeed it does look something like that Ray.

Lampage, benchage...this image has great quality Brian.
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much Chad.
Nice...
Brian Walbey: Thanks very much.
Really nice composition, Brian. You didn't mention that wonderful tree in your description.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Pauline. There are quite a few fine trees like that one around the gardens.

a wonderful reminder of summer days - I lover the cedar - a beautiful composition with the steps, the lantern and the diagonal clouds' mountains!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Philine, it was a nice birthday outing for me.

All the elements come together to make a pleasing image. The seat looks a little too modern, though, and seems at odds with the surroundings. Still makes for a good composition, though.
Brian Walbey: Yes the seat is a bit out of the style of the others I agree.
Wonderful capture of this serene place Brian!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Richard.
A rustic bench which looks designed for very short people Brian
Brian Walbey: Perhaps only short people work in the house Bill, it was ideal for Maureen, she's short smile
Nice one, Brian.

Well spotted by Peter, I think everyone just expect the posts to have a bit of a lean. My house is a classic example I think it needs re-stumping.
Another fine place to visit, July is a super month for getting about
Brian Walbey: Indeed a nice place to visit martin although one can only go there for a function or lunch, as we did. Only about 10 minutes from home actually.

I like the way you put a bench in if you find one, Brian
Brian Walbey: I like pictures with a lone bench, one of those and a lone tree in the same picture would be just great.
Definitely worth a photo and sharing it too.
Brian Walbey: Thanks Jacquelyn.
