A Look At Lakeland (1 of quite a few)

AT THIRLMERE WATER 2/7

We done a short circular walk round a well trodden footpath above Thirlmere Water during our stop-off there on the way to Keswick.. I wonder if Frank and Elizabeth took the same path back in March? I took quite a lot of shots on that walk and these are four of them showing some of the interesting sights and scenes we saw.

I love that rock wall! I believe - and Frank will correct me if I'm wrong... we walked a short distance on the path, but the wind was blowing a gale and we decided to move on. Lovely place, and we did get some photos of the lake and some fascinating mushrooms growing on a memorial bench.
Brian Walbey: yes Frank confirmed you walked a bit of this path, and about the cold wind, no wonder you didn't hang around.

Did you have a picnic on the walk Brian?
Brian Walbey: No it was only a short walk, but there was an ice cream van in the lay-by where we parked so we partook of one of those.

I like the drama of top left image ... Possible a glacial erratic.
Brian Walbey: It could well be Richard.

That big rock is a highlight for me.
Brian Walbey: Wonder how long it has been there like that.
Indeed we did, Brian,it's a nice excursion to stretch your legs from the car park,as Elizabeth says,it was a bit cold and windy when we were there.
Brian Walbey: We only done a short circular stroll as we had left the car in that lay-by with all our stuff in and didn't want to stray too far.
Looks like a good walk there Brian. Lovely collage

Looks like a pleasant walk, Brian.

I love the drystone walls in the Lakes - a fine montage you did!
Brian Walbey: Thanks Philine.
A beautiful quartet, Brian. it's a wonderful place for lonely walks with just beautiful scenery for company.
Brian Walbey: Yes you wouldn't believe this path was only a little way from the main road.
Some fine views here Brian
Very nice presentation Brian. I like the atmosphere!
A collage of pictures that are all good enough to stand alone Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, I thought it would go on too long if Imposted each individually.

I hope that boulder is secure, Brian!
Brian Walbey: I thought the same as we walked past it smile

I think they did, Brian,,.. which is more than I've done! Mind you, I've bought an ice cream from the van in layby and I've waiting over an hour for the bus there; the service outside the main holiday periods goes from one every 15 minutes to one every two hours!
Brian Walbey: Yes they had a shorter walk than us I think, it was cold and windy in March. It doesn't surprise me that you know this lay-by and the ice cream van at all.
