A Look At Lakeland (1 of quite a few)

MIREHOUSE 4/7

The grounds of Mirehouse, an estate on the north-eastern shore of Bassenthwaite now include a Bee Garden, a wild flower meadow, a "poetry walk" and adventure playgrounds. This lovely little stream runs down through a tree lined pathway in which, despite it being late May, the Rhododendrons were still in full bloom.

I can just hear that tinkling stream right now as I write this
Brian Walbey: I hope it's not so loud that it actually makes you want to tinkle yourself Chris.

I like the reflections of the blue sky in the creek/rivulet/B├Ąchlein.

In a limpid brook
The capricious trout
In joyous haste
Darted about like an arrow.
I stood on the bank
In blissful peace, watching
The lively fish swim around
In the clear brook
... (Franz Schubert, The Trout)
Brian Walbey: Thanks Philine, and what a lovely little verse.

"poetry walk"? "The house has many unique collections: on a wet day out (or otherwise), explore the strong literary connections Mirehouse has had over the years to Tennyson, Edward Fitzgerald, Thomas Carlyle and William Wordsworth in the relaxed atmosphere of a family home."
Brian Walbey: Unfortunately the house wasn't open to explore such interesting things the day we were there.

There was me expecting to see twelve images and just the one. Very good Brian.
Brian Walbey: Then you must find time to look in on Sunday Chad, another, "several for the price of one" day.
The gurgling stream is a treat for the eyes! Lovely shot Brian smile
Brian Walbey: It is rather nice isn't it.
What a really pretty English sight. I can almost hear the water trickling down.
Brian Walbey: Yes it is a lovely little stream.
Couldn't ask for a more delightful environment in which to take a leisurely walk, Brian. The sound of the gurgling stream must be so relaxing. Lovely image!
Brian Walbey: Yes this was a nice little spot judge on the edge of the walled garden area.
What a delightful scene Brian! I wish I was having a walk there.
Brian Walbey: I just know you would enjoy a walk through the whole estate Richard, a bit of everything including woods, fields, gardens and lakeside.
Lovely day, well composed Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks John.
The white palisade fence in the distance really makes this Brian
Brian Walbey: Yes I see what you mean, I hadn't thought about that to be honest.

These lovely scenes keep on coming, Brian - you have a treasure-house
Brian Walbey: Thanks Lisl, I'm getting towards the end of this somewhat lengthy Lake District series now.
