A Look At Lakeland (1 of quite a few)

MIREHOUSE 2/7

This shot at Mirehouse, an estate on the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake, was taken in the path called Lovers Lane, and the house can just be glimpsed above the hedgerow, set against the glorious mountain backdrop.

Of course, this is the lane on which you and your best gal [they call her Maureen] naturally found yourselves.
Brian Walbey: Indeed Ray, it is a lovely lane to stroll along.

a wonderful composition with the branches above! Lovers Lane is a fine name, and you both, Maureen and Brian, walked along it!
Brian Walbey: Indeed we did Philine, although we didn't find out till later it was called Lovers Lane, but it is that sort of lane.
I love the sunny feel to this

It looks like a place of picturesque solitude to live
Brian Walbey: I should think it is Chris, especially once the visitors have left.

It's probably a long way to the shops
Brian Walbey: You can be fairly certain of that Richard.

Did you bang your head on that branch when you stood up Brian?
Brian Walbey: Even I'm not that tall Chad smile
Beautifully framed with the tree bough! Lovely shot Brian smile
Brian Walbey: Thanks Martin.
Lovers Lane is an appropriate name to this beautiful place Brian!
Brian Walbey: yes I can imagine in the old days this was where the gentlemen took their ladies, with a chaperone of course smile

A very inviting scene. The early spring foliage looks lovely.
Brian Walbey: Yes it's really nice isn't it.
Gorgeous setting for an estate, Brian. Does the general public have access to Lovers Lane? It looks rather private to me.
Brian Walbey: It is a lovely setting Beverly, and yes, this Lovers Lane is open whilst the estate is, but not all the time.

Reminds me of the spirng left far behind,Brian, with this autumn rain and wind
Brian Walbey: Yes it was lovely up in the Lakes in May, although just before I took this there had been a very heavy shower.
I like this a lot Brian, the path leading into the view and nice foreground interest.
Brian Walbey: Thanks John.
Nice....
Great framing with the branch, Brian. A really lovely shot.
You didn't see Frank and Elizabeth did you? grin
Brian Walbey: No, we were too busy gazing at each other between photographs smile
