A Look At Lakeland (1 of quite a few)

GRANGE IN BORROWDALE 7/7

Holy Trinity is a small unique village church built in the mid 19th century by Miss Margaret Heathcote to save the people of Grange having to go to the parish church up the valley. Rumour has it that she never thought the vicars that the diocese appointed to the parish were quite good enough for the people of Grange! She managed to go through 7 "curates" in 11 years so maybe she was a little hard to please. People are always surprised by the unusual features of this little church.

Oh, this is a wonderful montage - so many beautiful details in this little church! Did you attend a service there to listen to the vicar ... I hope the people of Grange will love him and Miss Heathcote!
Brian Walbey: Isn't it a lovely church. It was mid-afternoon when we were there on a weekday so no services were scheduled.
A fine collage of a delightful little church Brian
Brian Walbey: Thanks Bill, isn't it lovely.
An unusual interior isn't it. Nice selection of shots Brian
Brian Walbey: Isn't it lovely, very unusual also.
Great montage

You always do church interior shots so well, Brian, and this is no exception. I like the altar and the old oil lamp; do they still use that lamp or do they have electricity?
Brian Walbey: Thanks Alan, these came off because of the amount of light coming in. I note there are oil lamps each side, I wonder of they are used for the carol service most churches hold on the last Sunday evening before Christmas with little other lighting, that would eb a lovely atmosphere.
This church is a gem Brian! I love the inside simplicity.
Brian Walbey: Isn't it just lovely Richard.
Delightful - I love that vaulted ceiling
Brian Walbey: Lovely isn't it Tom, not what I expected from the outside.
Judging from the outside of the church, Brian, the crisp looking interior is not what you would expect to see. A beautifully presented montage!
Brian Walbey: I didn't expect this at all Beverly, lovely isn't it.

Brian Walbey: Thanks for your catch up comments Ray, I'm glad you enjoyed the images of this lovely little place.
